I love to visit local general stores when I travel. Although this one is a grocery store, it was quite charming, filled with colorful plants, exotic imported treats and melt in your mouth chocolate chunk cookies (made on premise).
Hello Wendy, Love places like this myself. The quaintness of downtown Norway was one of the attractions here when we moved to this area 6 yr. ago from a busy city in Massachusetts. We were up here working on renovations for the weekend after Thanksgiving and happened to go downtown to the hardware store and ran into the Christmas parade, which I understand is the biggest one in Maine. So I've heard! We stood there and watched and I waxed nostalgic I guess you'd say. I got teary eyed and looked up at Mike and said, "I feel like I'm in a movie." It was surreal. If you ever come this way you'll have to let me know. I think you'd love this area. Enjoy your day.
thanks for your comments Carol. I'm afraid these sorts of small communities seem to be fading. I've never been to Norway, sounds like a fun road trip. I went to your art blog and love the shoe painting. I took photos of a pile of little girls shoes a few years back. I should revisit them and maybe do a painting of them too. I dabble in acrylics also. stay creative.... Wendy
I carry my camera everywhere I go and take photos everyday. I live in the beautiful colorful state of NH and want to share my view, however skewed, of it's nooks and crannies. enjoy.
