Lenticular Clouds in NH


I just found out that these fantastic UFO shaped clouds are called lenticular clouds. I took these in March over the White Mountains at Bretton Woods. They remind me of the Jetson's.

    These are awesome. I've never seen anything like them. I wonder what atmospheric conditions cause them to form. My husband Mike thinks they are awesome, too. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Carol, I looked it up and it's something to do with the way the air is moving, it creates an updraft which is great for glider planes, but not so good for large aircraft.
