I just found out that these fantastic UFO shaped clouds are called lenticular clouds. I took these in March over the White Mountains at Bretton Woods. They remind me of the Jetson's.

Carol, I looked it up and it's something to do with the way the air is moving, it creates an updraft which is great for glider planes, but not so good for large aircraft.
